Our Teaching Vision for  2026

Formed as a People: Living the Priesthood of All Believers

This year’s preaching and teaching calendar is shaped around a simple but demanding biblical conviction:

Before God activates a people, He forms them.

Rather than organizing the year around disconnected sermon series or short-term emphases, our goal is to walk together through a formational arc—learning to listen to God, ordering our homes, living faithfully in the world, and remaining steadfast under the reign of Jesus Christ.

This plan reflects our desire to be a church that is not merely informed, but deeply formed as disciples.

The Shape of the Year

The year is organized into four intentional movements. Each quarter builds on the one before it, allowing truth to be practiced, embodied, and lived over time.

Q1 – ROOTS

Learning to Listen Before Activation

We begin the year by slowing down.

This quarter focuses on:

  • Learning to listen attentively to God through Scripture

  • Recovering prayer as attentiveness rather than performance

  • Developing habits of study, reflection, and spiritual listening

  • Being shaped inwardly before being sent outward

Why this matters:
Throughout Scripture, God forms His people in quiet, hidden ways before entrusting them with visible responsibility. This quarter establishes a listening posture—rooted in the Word and prayer—before any emphasis on calling, service, or leadership.

Q2 – FORMING THE HOME

Faith Practiced Where Life Is Lived

Formation moves next to the most primary place of discipleship: the home.

This quarter centers on:

  • The home as a spiritual environment, not merely a living space

  • The necessity of regular family worship and shared prayer

  • Marriage shaped by Scripture, prayer, and intentional leadership

  • Parents training children to develop a personal walk with Christ

  • Faith being lived daily, not occasionally

Why this matters:
Before believers live as priests in the world, faith must be formed in the household. Scripture consistently places the responsibility for discipleship first in the home, not the institution. This quarter helps families recover simple, biblical rhythms that anchor faith across generations.

Q3 – PRIESTHOOD IN THE WORLD

Christ Our High Priest after the Order of Melchizedek

Having been formed inwardly and at home, the focus now turns outward.

This quarter explores:

  • Jesus Christ as our High Priest after the order of Melchizedek

  • What His priesthood means for believers today

  • Living as priests beyond formal religious spaces

  • Vocation, work, community, and daily life as sacred ground

  • Blessing, hospitality, justice, and faithful presence

Why this matters:
Melchizedek represents a priesthood that operates faithfully outside the temple system. This quarter helps believers see their everyday lives—work, relationships, service, and presence—as places where Christ’s priesthood is lived out under His authority.

Q4 – FAITHFUL UNTIL THE END

Endurance, Watchfulness, and Hope

The year concludes by lifting our eyes forward.

This quarter focuses on:

  • Faithfulness over time

  • Endurance without fear

  • Watchfulness rooted in hope, not anxiety

  • Living ready under the reign of Christ

  • Awaiting the King with confidence and trust

Why this matters:
The Christian life is not sustained by intensity alone, but by steady faithfulness. This quarter forms a people who know how to remain rooted, hopeful, and obedient while awaiting Christ’s return—living with purpose rather than urgency or fear.

How This Teaching Vision Serves the Church

This yearly plan is designed to:

  • Support the Priesthood of All Believers

  • Integrate personal devotion, family life, and public faith

  • Resist program-driven or crisis-driven spirituality

  • Form disciples who live faithfully before God in every sphere of life

Preaching establishes the spiritual atmosphere; lived obedience gives it substance.

Our Prayer

Our prayer is that this year will form a people who:

  • Listen carefully to God

  • Order their homes wisely

  • Live faithfully in the world

  • Remain steadfast in hope

Not mastering information—but being shaped by the Living Christ.
