The Living Word: A Year-Long Bible Study
Discovering Jesus the Messiah in the Torah, Prophets, and Writings

The Living Word is a year-long Bible study designed to help individuals, families, and groups read Scripture as one unified story, centered on Jesus Christ.
This study begins where the Bible begins—with the Torah—and follows God’s unfolding revelation through the Prophets and Writings, leading us to a deeper understanding of Jesus and what it means to live faithfully as His disciples today.
This is not a fast-paced or surface-level study. It is formational, meant to shape how we listen to God, how we live out our faith, and how we walk with Christ in everyday life.
What This Study Is
The Living Word is:
-
Rooted in Scripture from Genesis to the New Testament
-
Focused on understanding God’s commands, promises, and purposes
-
Centered on Jesus Christ as the fulfillment of God’s Word
-
Designed to strengthen discipleship, not simply convey information
This study helps participants see how the Bible fits together—and how God’s Word speaks into real life with clarity, depth, and hope.
What This Study Is Not
To avoid confusion, it is important to be clear about what this study is not.
The Living Word is not about:
-
Becoming Jewish or adopting Jewish cultural identity
-
Keeping the feasts or Jewish holidays
-
Following the lunar calendar
-
Learning Hebrew as a requirement
-
Replacing Christian worship practices
While God revealed Himself within a particular historical and cultural context, this study is focused on understanding Scripture more clearly, not changing cultural or religious identity.
How This Study Can Be Used
The Living Word is intentionally flexible and can be used in multiple ways:
-
Private personal study
-
Small groups or home groups
-
Sabbath School classes
-
Self-paced study
Participants may join at any point, though beginning at the start provides the fullest experience.
How This Study Fits Our Church’s Teaching Vision
This Bible study flows directly from the church’s broader teaching direction, which emphasizes formation before activation, faith practiced in the home, and living faithfully in the world under the reign of Jesus Christ.
